I'm really hoping tomorrow they venture out. It will be 24 days . Mom and dad are still feeding them well. Im wondering if I spooked the kids when we banded them last weekend. They really should be out and about by now.

Well I spent about 5 hours in the birdroom organizing this and that and watching Jet and Bubbles. From what I saw those spoiled kids are being fed about twice an hour, mom and dad alternating. So thankfully they aren't in any danger. Everyone is fat and feathers shiny.

Madcat do you remember last year my old society female "Lucky", the one I named "head mistress"? The one that wouldn't let the kids fledge, everytime one of her kids peeked out she sounded the alarm and ordered them back in the nest :-T ?

Well, it looks to be the same situation with Jet and Bubbles. So even though tomorrow will be 25 days, all seems well. I figure they will defiantly leap out of the nest when they decide are tired of their siblings elbowing them in the ribs B-( and their butts up each other's faces. :YMSICK:

Those that have known me since I joined know my first finch year was filled with me.
1. Having 5 adult society finch deaths and me handraising 8-9? Babies in an emergency

2. Prematurely taking babies out of a gouldian nest the second I panicked, and I handfed them to adulthood.

3. Hatching eggs in an incubator (which is extremely difficult, I dont recommend anyone do it), then handraising THOSE as well.

4 Pulling gouldian chicks from societies because I felt they slacked off the job within a week of them hatching the eggs.

OMG it was the most exhausting year of my life since I can remember. I must of hand raised about 20+ finches to adulthood last year . I had newborns in incubators, hatchlings in brooders and juvies in cages all at the same time screaming for pippettes, and log books of feedings that would make your head hurt. ~X( "My average sleep night was 5 hours.

This is a real test of my will to keep slapping myself and let the parents do their job. This year will be a good year. I need to chill and relax.
