Ask away, that's the point of the forum. (believe it or not, i only had my first pair of finches for 3 months now). I learned everything from this forum by asking lots of questions.
Goulds, Owls, Gold Breasts, Stars, Zebras, Societies
An obscene number of chicks and eggs
And an incredibly rare St. Goldena Breast finch
Anyone want some finches???

Your birds are beautiful. I think they will be fine. What size is that cage? It looks like it may be a little too small.
Birds preen ALOT. Also, you could take the nest out if they are not going to breed and that would give them more room as gouldians do not sleep in a nest.
Congrats on them.... they sure are pretty. I love the white breasted ones.

Thanks for the tips, dfcauley, definitely need a bigger cage, I just want them to settle in for a week or so as not to stress them out completely..dfcauley wrote:Your birds are beautiful. I think they will be fine. What size is that cage? It looks like it may be a little too small.

Actually this usually means they are very relaxed, and comfortable in their surroundings. So it looks like they are settling in.

All of these knowledgable folks are a wonderful help. I had a ton of questions and felt like a "mother hen" when I first got my birds. This is a great resourse for us newbies. As a new member I find the questions and answers here so very helpful. Thanks fellow finch lovers!FrenchieFinch wrote:Thanks FinchFry, you all have been great, don't mean to innundate the board with such novice questions
