Ask away, that's the point of the forum. (believe it or not, i only had my first pair of finches for 3 months now). I learned everything from this forum by asking lots of questions.
Goulds, Owls, Gold Breasts, Stars, Zebras, Societies
An obscene number of chicks and eggs
And an incredibly rare St. Goldena Breast finch
Anyone want some finches???

Your birds are beautiful. I think they will be fine. What size is that cage? It looks like it may be a little too small.

Birds preen ALOT. Also, you could take the nest out if they are not going to breed and that would give them more room as gouldians do not sleep in a nest.

Congrats on them.... they sure are pretty. I love the white breasted ones.

Thanks for the tips, dfcauley, definitely need a bigger cage, I just want them to settle in for a week or so as not to stress them out completely.. :D

thanks T85....question, I just got home, and the male is perched, on one leg, and hiding the other...with a little coaxing I got him to set the other one down, and it looks fine, but, he is doing it again, this time with the other leg...is something wrong??????????

Actually this usually means they are very relaxed, and comfortable in their surroundings. So it looks like they are settling in. :D :D

I agree with the others - a finch perched on one leg with the other tucked up and under is a good sign that he is happy and relaxed. :D

I was wondering about that perched on one-leg position.
I was thinking that he was having problems with one leg or foot.
Good to know that's normal.
