It was just getting too long....

Well, Donna did a really nice thing. She traded her gouldian for that gouldian from Floyd. Then she sold me the traded bird for a great price.Finch Fry wrote:Oh, i am soo jeleous! You 2 live so close to all the bird action!!!! I wish I could get to such events as often as you get to!
Dianna, i am particularly envious of the gould you bought. I assume female to pair with the male ... boomer i believe you called him. Let me do my 20 questions real quick. Who did you get him from. Did they have more? How much?
I am hoping to get a YH,WB,YBSB female at the mart in July!
Did a bit of reading, the yellow head can only be expressed if the bird is genetically a red head, not black. Black is dominant and will express as the head color and leave a yellow tipped beak even though it is DFR. The RTB you have on the YH means you have a SFY split to R or vice versa, a SFR/ split to Y (same difference). The pairing of this with your RH male means you will have 37.5% orange heads SFY and 62.5% red heads if male or black heads if female. Pretty sweet combo of offspring you have in those 2 to be honest.DVBourassa wrote:Well, Donna did a really nice thing. She traded her gouldian for that gouldian from Floyd. Her head color looks bright orange but the tip of her beak is red. So I'm thinking she is really a red head based on reading here that yellow heads have yellow tipped beaks.
I have been having the hardest time finding people interested in trading.....just different types to watch and enjoy.... and if they do breed then sell or trade the babies.
